CFD modeling

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling is an effective way to study complicated physical phenomena.  It is less expensive than experimental testing, as it only requires computer resources and analysis of the results. Also, CFD software, such as ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, COMSOL, Nek5000, and OpenFOAM can easily simulate conditions that are not always possible to achieve through experimental methods. CFD modeling has great value in monitoring, equipment development, optimization, and prediction of results. Via coupling with system-level codes, it can be used for multi-scale and multi-physics modeling of interconnected systems involving components with complex geometry.
